Edmonton Oilers Tie Western Conference Final 1-1 After Splitting First Two Games

Hyman Scores Personal High 54 Goals

McDavid Becomes Fourth Player to Reach Milestone

The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars are tied 1-1 in the Western Conference Final after splitting the first two games of the series. Zach Hyman scored a personal high 54 goals to finish as the team leader in goals scored, while Connor McDavid became the fourth player since Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Jaromir Jagr to reach the 50-goal mark in a season. The Oilers have been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team this season, capable of playing at an elite level at times but also struggling with consistency. They will need to find a way to play their best hockey in the remaining games of the series if they want to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. The Stars, meanwhile, have been a surprise team this season, making it to the Western Conference Final for the first time since 2000. They are a well-rounded team with a strong defense and a balanced offense. They will be a tough opponent for the Oilers, but Edmonton has home-ice advantage in Games 3 and 4. Game 3 of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, May 31st, at Rogers Place in Edmonton. The Oilers will be looking to take a 2-1 series lead, while the Stars will be looking to even the series.
